7 Ways To Incorporate Your Partner In Your Pregnancy

Your pregnancy is a great opportunity to become closer to your partner. There are so many appointments, events, and decisions that allow for the two of you to work together. If you have found you are searching for ways to incorporate your partner in your pregnancy, look no further.

Incorporate Your Partner In Your Pregnancy

Take advantage of this time to grow and learn with your partner. You do not have to feel alone during your pregnancy. At City of Oaks Midwifery, we are committed to helping you through your pregnancy in a positive way. For example, we have listed seven ways to incorporate your partner in your pregnancy.

Invite Them To Your Doctor’s Appointments

During your pregnancy, there are so many doctor’s appointments to keep track of. This is a great chance to ask your partner to attend the appointments with you. Whether it is for an ultrasound or just a check-up, your partner will actively be part of your health journey along the way.

According to the Mayo Clinic, you could possibly even have three or more different doctor’s appointments in just the first trimester!

Take Parenting Classes Together

If this is your first child, the idea of parenting may still be intimidating. That is a great reason to get you and your partner signed up for a parenting class. There are so many to choose from that you can find the perfect fit for your life and how you choose to parent.

Exercise Together

Staying active is an important part of every pregnancy. It can be a fun way to incorporate your partner into everyday life. Something as simple as a walk or bike ride can be a great way to find time to spend together, while also benefiting your pregnancy.

Interact With The Baby

Even though the baby has not been born yet, it can be a great experience to interact with it. Getting your partner to speak to the baby gives you the chance to bond as a family before the baby is even born.

Go To The Bookstore

While parenting classes are very effective, books can provide insight as well. Spend time with your partner browsing the aisles of a local bookstore trying to find books you can learn from together. If bookstores are not your thing, there are so many books to find online as well.

Good Housekeeping detailed a list of the top 20 parenting books that are worth the read and the cost. Incorporate your partner through reading! That is an easy way to work on a hobby and learn together. Even just a few of these could give you and your partner exactly what you have been looking for in terms of information.

Announce The Pregnancy Together

When you find out you are pregnant, you then get to decide how you are going to tell your friends and family. You and your partner can spend time planning and organizing the perfect plan. It gives you a chance to have fun before the stress and time that the pregnancy will take up truly begins.

Create Your Registry Together

Often, a baby registry is used for friends and family to gift the pregnant couple items before the baby is born. You and your partner can decide what items you are going to ask for and what is most necessary for the home. From there, both of you will know what items to possibly expect as time goes on throughout the pregnancy.

Make your pregnancy a time of bonding for you and your partner. There are so many ways to incorporate your partner into the pregnancy, some you may not have even considered already. It does not have to be a solo journey. Are you looking for even more ways to incorporate your partner? Our staff at City of Oaks Midwifery is here to help and answer any questions you may have.
